4 mile run...tapering
I ran 10 miles last Saturday and then 4 miles yesterday. My calf felt a little sore after each run which was surprising. Hopefully it was just a little stiff and it'll be fine for this weekend. I'll probably run 10-15 more miles this week and then I'll be heading off to KY Friday afternoon. Wish Chris and I luck!

You should try thos ecalf "socks". They are elastic and help support the calves. I got them from ZombieRunner when I injured my calf and it really helped. Some runners wear them all the times - there were atleast 3 runners I saw wear them the entire Badwater race and many many (100 or so) wore them at Ultra Tour du Mont Blanc.
soorry - "those calf socks". I can get you the name if you like.
That sounds like a great idea and the pressure on the calf would feel good. I remember using one of those elastic knee badages around my shin when I hurt it and it helped out a lot. What's the name? Thanks.
I love that course and you will have a blast. Tell Steve (RD) Rob Powell said hi! I am not sure if you have run there. You have time to get out in front before the trail becomes single track. But do not let the single track cause you and Chris to push too fast at the start. What you loose at the start you will make up by feeling good at mile 45. Everyone else will be crashing.
Good luck! I hope the run feels good and the weather is pleasant.
Thanks Rob. I'll tell Steve you said hi if I see him. I ran the course last year and I remember being annoyed at this girl who would NOT let me pass her. I finally cut her off and passed her and then she gave me a dirty look after the race. AY AY AY...race politics! :)Hope you have fun for your daughter's bday.
Heath-ther: Thanks! I hope it's good weather, too. Unfortunately I think it's going to be in the 40s and kind of rainy. Yuck!

These are what I got. Not cheap, but they have helped me.
